Between June 24 and July 7, 2026, we individually checked 26 real O'ahu small businesses — landscapers, mobile mechanics, pet groomers, cleaners, detailers — for one thing: do they own a real website, or are they relying only on Yelp, Facebook, Instagram, or a directory listing?

1. Google Maps shows a working website link

Search your business on Google Maps right now. Is there a "Website" button — and does it go to a page you actually own, not just your Facebook or Yelp page?

2. Your business name search shows a real site, not just social

Search your business name in Google. Is the top non-map result a website you control — or is it a Facebook page, Instagram profile, Yelp listing, or directory page?

3. A stranger can book, message, or get a quote without calling

If someone finds you at 9pm and doesn't want to talk on the phone, is there any way for them to reach you — a form, a booking link, a text option?

4. Your hours and info are correct everywhere someone might look

Do your listed hours, phone number, and address match across Google, Facebook, and Yelp — and match what's actually true today?

5. Someone can see your work or prices before they ever call

Photos of real jobs, a price range, service list — anything that lets a customer decide "yes, call them" before you've spent a minute on the phone?

6. You own the page that shows up — not a platform that can change the rules

Is your top search result a domain you own and control — or a Yelp/FB/IG/directory page that could change its algorithm, paywall your visibility, or vanish tomorrow?
